{"id":11,"date":"2006-12-07T13:03:42","date_gmt":"2006-12-07T17:03:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.crossandcrownchurch.org\/?p=11"},"modified":"2006-12-07T13:03:42","modified_gmt":"2006-12-07T17:03:42","slug":"christian-perfection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.ekklesiaofcrane.org\/?p=11","title":{"rendered":"Christian Perfection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Hebrews 11:6<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.\u00a0<br \/>\n<\/em><em>\u00a0<br \/>\n<\/em>The other day I read a quote from a book that I was reading that was freeing and a revelation that I always keep in my heart in everything that I do, think, and say.\u00a0 Here is a quote from the book, \u0093My Utmost for His Highest\u0094, by Oswald Chambers.\u00a0 \u0093Christian perfection is not, and never can be human perfection.\u00a0 Christian perfection is the perfection of a relationship with God that shows its self to be true even amid the seemingly unimportant aspects of human life.\u0094\u00a0 The above scripture testifies to the fact that we cannot please God unless we do everything by faith.\u00a0 Faith requires us to believe in, trust in Him for every aspect of our lives; which means we must grow closer to Him to be able to trust and believe in Him.\u00a0 Thus, Christian perfection comes out of faith and desiring to please Him.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nTo try to achieve perfection by works is like a dog chasing its tail.\u00a0 It can never be achieved.\u00a0 We come to Him and we say look at all the good I have done for you; and all He can say is I could have accomplished all of this without you.\u00a0 My greatest desire is you.\u00a0 So, even in works, He is trying to bring us in a closer relationship with Him.\u00a0 Faith requires us to depend on Him and hear Him for every instruction, for every nudge, for every quiet, still voice in hearing Him, even if that instruction is to do nothing.\u00a0 That way, in doing nothing, which is sometimes harder than doing something, we become closer to Him.\u00a0 In this we achieve what God wants \u0096 a relationship with Him.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nMost people would say that all this takes is obedience, and in a way that is true.\u00a0 It is obedience to His voice. \u00a0What Jesus was trying to get the religious world to see was that the perception of obedience needed to be changed.\u00a0 The religious then, and the religious now, think that if they follow the scriptures to the jot and tittle they will be okay with God.\u00a0 And yet, He is disappointed.\u00a0 What He desires is that they obey His voice and do it while referring to and according to His written word.\u00a0\u00a0 This makes God &#8211;\u00a0 a living God, and not just a God of instructions.\u00a0 Everything that God has done, and will do will is to the same purpose; reconciling His people unto Himself.\u00a0 This is what pleases Him.<em><br \/>\n<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hebrews 11:6\u00a0 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.\u00a0 \u00a0 The other day I read a quote from a book that I was reading that was freeing and a revelation [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-11","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.ekklesiaofcrane.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/11","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.ekklesiaofcrane.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.ekklesiaofcrane.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.ekklesiaofcrane.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/4"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.ekklesiaofcrane.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=11"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/blog.ekklesiaofcrane.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/11\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.ekklesiaofcrane.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=11"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.ekklesiaofcrane.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=11"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.ekklesiaofcrane.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=11"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
